What's so exciting about this?
It's a bunch of cars going round and round.

Great race and an awesome finish! However they should have thrown a caution as soon as the wreck started which would have given the win to Mark Martin.

they did the right thing, the wreck was behind them and the finish line was right there

So ........ the caution is only thrown if the leader is behind the wreck?

The reason to throw a caution in the first place is to alert drivers that there is trouble ahead and to slow down for their safety. NASCAR used to throw the caution and let them race back to the line to set the positions. A few years ago they stopped that for safety reasons and set the field as soon as the caution dropped. They immediately threw a caution when Boris Said spun by himself in the back of the pack earlier so why not throw the caution as soon as they started wrecking on the last lap. Just because they were racing for the win up front dosen't mean you jepardize the safety of the drivers that are still behind the wreck. This ONE time they let them race back to the line instead of having the usual caution.

NASCAR has always had a problem with the consistency of their judgement calls. If they threw the caution as usual, Mark Martin wins.

The controversy continues
