discrepancy in bandwidth usage (huge)

Went through all my domains yesterday to figure out which to move or not (load balance), but when noting the gigs used in awstats for January I found huge differences from what my hostingcompany is reporting. Awstats is actually reporting only half usage...

Can awstats be trusted? Have you noticed a difference in the gb usage with your hosting company?

Check your site and your stats, sure you can find from where is all the traffic.

Maybe you're pulling BW from a site you have hosted with your company and just forgot to check its stats. Although 1000 gb is a pretty good amount...

Awstats will only count traffic from the websites. It will not count FTP or Email, which can account for a large proportion.

Typical of a overloaded server, awstats will not grab data when the server is overloading. Your host is off MRTG so it's accurate.

Well, it is a lot, but if someone hacked them, and is sending out spam with attachments it could happen
