Don't bet on it...I remember when the Rolling Stones did their Steel Wheels Tour (which was jokingly referred to as the Steel Wheelchairs Tour), many assumed it would be their last, yet Mick keeps working stages all over the world well into his 60's (not bad considering he was in his prime during the decade of the 60's).

Police concerts are always a blast (I saw them four times, plus Sting solo several times) - the band does various arrangements of their songs, along with interesting medleys, plus Sting has the crowd singing throughout.

Pricey, but I'll be in the $$$ seats...and the cool thing is I expect to enjoy every minute of it, so it will be well worth the money spent.

I just checked the Police web site and you can get advance (pre-public sales) tickets - but first you have to join a Membership to their site for which they want $100 for a year (then it auto-renews "for your convenience").

Damn!!!

Also, I just checked my ticket stubs, and the cost in 1979 was $8.50, in 1982 $10.50, and in 1983 it was $17.50 - I also saw them play at the US Festival, but that was a 3-day show, which cost $37.50 to see bands including:

Friday, September 3rd:

Gang of Four
The Ramones
The English Beat
Oingo Boingo
The B52's
Talking Heads
The Police

Saturday, September 4th

The Joe Sharino Band
Dave Edmunds
Eddie Money
Santana
The Cars
The Kinks
Pat Benatar
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Sunday, September 5th

Grateful Dead
Jerry Jeff Walker
Jimmy Buffet
Jackson Browne
Fleetwood Mac

I also attended the 1983 US Festival which cost $60:

Saturday, May 28th:

Divinyls
INXS
Wall of Voodoo
Oingo Boingo
The English Beat
Flock ofSeagulls
Stray Cats
Men At Work
The Clash

Sunday May 29th:

Quiet Riot
Motley Crue
Ozzy Osbourne
Judas Priest
Triumph
Scorpions
Van Halen

Monday May 30th:

Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul
Berlin
Quarterflash
U2
Missing Persons
Pretenders
Joe Walsh
Stevie Nicks
David Bowie

THAT was a crazy weekend...

I didn't go to the 1983 US Festival but a friend of mine had a copy of it on VHS (the 2nd day with the metal bands) and we must have watched it every day for months straight. Ozzy Osbourne coming out in that kick ass witch doctor outfit is a very happy memory of my youth. Damn, time to start searching youtube to see if I can find it

I am getting tickets thru the Best Buy rewards program. Only problem is they are not coming within 3 hours of where I live so I have to add travel expenses as well as ticket prices. Oh well, I'll be there with a smile on my face.
