There are some kinks, but it's not "that bad". Everyonce and a while I have some issues with my mouse, but I think that may be the mouse going as well.

Wait at least 6 month before you install it. There are always too many bugs in microsofts new releases.

that shit is being pushed HARD everywhere. Pretty much any store that sells computer software has huge displays for Vista and all the new computer places are pushing it as the default OS even though a large percentage of the software out there isn't compatible with it. Fuck Microsoft. My next purchase is Apple

Vista is cool and I like a lot of its features but hardware and software support is not there. Most of your software and hardware will not work! So wait 6 months to a year if you want to use your old software or your brand new video card!

at that pic

my computer totally died last week and I had to get a new one, and the only operating system they could or WOULD install was Vista, they said XP just wouldn't run on the new hardware..

So far I'm not having too many problems, but some of the programs I use to use don't have driver updates and others don't seem to be able to get past the new Windows firewall.

Oh and I'm MOSTLY pissed cos my .dbx outlook express folders don't seem to be able to be converted to the new Windows Mail format. I DL'd some software that was supposed to extract them as .eml files but I'd have to save each one individually and realistically I just don't have time for that.

One thing I was told though is that when installing Vista it's really easy to fuck it up, so make sure if you do it yourself that you follow their instructions to the letter!

Sadly whether we like it or not, this is what we all have to get used to eventually.

there were some nice things about vista when I installed it, but I'm going back to XP right now. I'll wait a while for more drivers like others have said.
