Where did all the turnkey template offers go? - GoFuckYourself.com

A couple of years ago there were lots of turnkey paysites and designs (specially paysite designs) offers around.
Anyone know where did these go? I mean, nowadays you can get exclusive design for almost the same money... so why there are not more turnkeys than before?

Having a nice exclusive tour could be nice... but having a couple of template tours is also good just in case you want to run another campaign and you don't want to use the standard tour for that one... you just go to the template store, get a fresh template and put the ccbill/nats code on it and it's ready to go.

Knowing that two years ago you were able to buy a turnkey paysite for $250, and now some designers offer you the exclusive design for the same money (even less)... I guess something is just wrong or the market has evoluted in the opposite direction.

Seeing how many designers here open threads with "give me work" I think that if some of them just make a couple of template designs and then put them in a shopping cart it could make them some money, and also help webmasters to find faster what they search for.

Dealing with a guy explaining him what I want takes lots of time and usually the design he delivers is not exactly at 100% what I want. Having a premade template design with a price near it makes it much more easy and fast. I can just choose the design and it's done. Usually delivery time is a great factor when making a purchase decision... and a straight download after payment or 24 hours after payment is a very nice option.

Now designers can jump on this thread with "give me work" replies... but a real difference would be something like "here you have my templates list, pay for the template you want and it's done".
Note that this post is about paysite tours templates and not about TGP and galleries templates.
Of course, if there are designers that are able to deliver the design 24 hours after order placing I would be happy to hear about them too

Cheap outsourcing killed them off. Why use a template system when you can get custom shit done anywhere from $99 (Some dude named Kris or something is selling this service) and up.

Because custom usually takes time... and time is money.
From time to time I just need a couple of designs very fast (in the next 2 or 3 hours). These don't need to be something very fancy... I would say they must be "decent" so they don't scare the surfer straight away.

When you go to a site with 200 templates and you put 5 of them in the cart and start downloading after payment it has saved you lots of time. Compared to custom work you have to spend a couple of hours explaining to the guy what do you want, then you have to wait a couple of days for him to finish, so on average it's 3 days time. After he shows you the design you realize that he has choosen the most ugly girl you have in the members area to put it as main girl on the tour (lots of designers do that, at least the girl is "ugly" by the EU/USA standards). So you ask him to change the girl and it's 2 days more.
With a template design you have these 3 - 5 days to get the ccbill approval for the site and start organizing your traffic hubs to point to the site in question. After that you can put some custom design or continue with the template depending on how good is it. the main point is that the site is already up and running really fast.

Having NATS and CARMA or any other CMS you can build a new site up and running in a couple of hours if it was not because of the lack of tours templating services... there is none of them working at the moment.

1 ) Buy some content blowout deal for $1 - 2k (5 minutes)
2 ) Transfer content from server to server (10 -20 minutes)
3 ) Put all the content into CARMA (2 - 6 hours, if it's videos it's a bit faster)
4 ) Setup the site in NATS (10 minutes)
5 ) Slap the tour template and start selling (10 minutes)

Total time to launch a new small site --> 3 - 7 hours... except that the tour template fails... so it becomes a minimum of 3 - 5 days.
In most of these cases a person with this workflow builds the site depending on the content blowout of the day and this renders impossible the preordering of a custom design a week before.

If you know about any template selling service that is working I'll be happy to buy from them
