Here is my advice:

People have all sorts of advice, but you don't know how much or how well they did.

In my mind there are only two people with PROVEN track records in the stcok market:

Peter Lynch
Warren Buffet

Here is one of Lynch's books:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0671891634

We know he knows what he is doing as he got about 20% on average over 20 years as manager of magellan

And we know Warren Buffet knows what he is doing as he runs the most expensive stock in the world (never split it).

99.9% of people that talk about the market do not have a PROVEN record. They may CLAIM they do, but lynch's and buffet's are a matter of public record. Other can fudge the figures after the fact - lynch and buffet couldn't.

Oh - and they both say alot of the same stuff.

my 2 cents

You are better off putting all your money in a diversified fund from a broker...

...take it from a guy who put his nest egg in PSInet and Rare Medium...

Well I'm young and have a bit of cash to play with...I'm not looking to Play the market...only invest wisely for the longterm and maybe take a FEW risks...I'm reading some books and doing some research on the general dynamics and fundamentals of stock investing...thanks for the link!
