I use linksys routers all day at the pad. They run quite sweetly. Are you sure it's not the shit card in your pc or laptop? Sometimes you just need to upgrade your network card or try a new one.

Also on linksys routers you need to upgrade the firmware every now and then. That helps.

They are good wireless routers. Wireless isn't the most stable( but what is )like the previous poster said and if your using wep encryption or something that could cause problems.

!!! good luck !!!

I find that a lot of people complaining about disconnections from their wifi router have basically default configuration, default channel, with no security and the lease option on... (which is usually by default every 24h so if that sounds like your case, well, duh.)

Sounds like you may need a router (or card) with higher output power and/or better receive sensitivity.

d-link allways does very well for me; never had problems with it. Cisco is very good as well but more expensive.

replace the antennas (use the "high gain" ones) or add a "range expander" to your network

What is the model of your router? If it's a WRT54G I can understand you have problem.. lately I've heard good thing about the WBR-1310 from dlink.. but like many people are saying, I never add luck with wireless router
