FIREFOX opening 8 zillion tabbed windows wtf???

    FIREFOX opening 8 zillion tabbed windows wtf???

    Sometimes when I try to open a new tab a shitload of tabs will start opening kinda like a tabbed version of popup hell.

    I have to shut down firefox or occasionally even reboot to make it stop.

    Anyone had that happen?

    make it stop please.

          it happened to me. i think it was because once i chose firefox to open .php files in preferences and it couldn't open them and got stuck in a loop of trying to open them again and again until it froze the computer. sometimes i would post a reply here and it would put up a prompt to save/open a php file for some reason and if i screwed up and hit yes, it would go back to that loop.

          its probably trying to do something like that. its set to open a certain file type and when it comes across those file types, it goes into a spiral of death because for whatever reason it keeps opening more tabs each time it can't open it.

                          I've been having this same problem in IE7, but only at GFY. No other website has the problem. Ocassionally after I make a post or close out a gfy tab, all of the sudden dozens of tabs start opening until I either run out of memory or it causes the IE7 window to close. WEIRD how it's cross-platform LOL
