This place is nuts. The Del Rey Hotel in San Jose is the wild wild west. It has the hottest and largest selection of prostitutes I've ever seen (think Penelope Cruz look-alikes). Any girl can be yours all for the very low, but negotiable price of $100 USD or 40Mil Colones. Once you find yourself a companion, you can take her (or she-he if that's your thing) about 100 meters from the Del Rey to the Asia hotel. The Asia boasts solid concrete floors, questionable bedding and no questions asked for $10 USD/hour. Also, I heard ;) coca goes for $20 USD a gram for pure, uncut, unreal, sticky rocketfuel. You can get this from the cab drivers near the front door of the Del Rey.

On to Jaco... The street kids all offer you coca. The shitty part is that their idea of coca is 95% salt 5% coca. It's in your best interest not to buy from the street kids. Get your party favors from the hookers. Jaco's night life starts around 8:00 at the Beatle Bar. Around 12:00-2AM it's Nacho Daddy's just down the street. Then, from 2-6AM it's Pancho Villas. The working girls are hot, but from what I saw, not as hot as the ones in San Jose.

I just came from Santa Teresa, which is a small surfing villiage on the West side of CR. It's great if you like dreadlocks, hippie communes and surfing mingled with little to no rocketfuel / prostitutes.
