A friend of mine wants me to visit and pretty much stay there as much as immigration laws will allow. I'd want to consider shooting chicks there. Certainly the occasional Thai girl, but he claims the place is crawling with cute backpacker chicks from all over Europe and the Americas who could probably use a quick infusion of cash. Anyone know Thailand well enough to tell me how to find them? (And, please, don't tell me anything about underage girls or boys...I'm not interested.)

DO NOT forget to smoke opium (after trecking all day). That happens in the North of the country, close to cities Chang Mai and Chang Rai. U will never forget the experience.
Find the backpakers in Kosa Mui (have no idea how to spell that) but you will find it easily, it's on that island and the neighboring ones that there are all those rave parties and stuff. Thats in the south of the country.
Bankok sucks. The underage stuff will make you sick there.

You could fill a thai voyeur dorm full of models for less than $10 a day
though you might have to spend more on security to keep gary out of the house.

If your going to Bangkok... then you should visit Khao San Road, thats a meetingpoint for the backpackers.
If you want to shoot thai girls you should probably head down to Silom Road and the "sois" there. Patpong for example. But there are many other places...
Remember that all form of pornography is illegal there. Not sure how well they enforce the law on it since I had adult movies at pay per view on the TV at one of the better hotels there at my last trip.Comment

I spent a month earlier this year throughout Thailand. If you want to shoot tourists, I would say Bangkok, Pattaya and the south islands/beaches would be your best bet. In Bangkok specifically, I would go to where the backpacker young crowd hangs out (Khao San Road) and maybe around Sukhumvit Road. There are zillions of single women from all over passing through these areas. The south (Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi...) is great and a major destination for women looking for a beach or party vacation. I suspect the laws are real restrictive about this but if you keep things low key, lots of officially illegal things go on there. Best of luck.Comment

My friend, who more or less lives there, is telling me that Ko Samui (where he lives), is "crawling with backpacker chicks from all over the world," who frequently are low on cash. THAT is what I'd be looking for, not underage male or female hookers. My ex-wife spent some time there and told me that the local males resent foreigners socializing "with intentions" with the Thai women. I'm not saying I'd never shoot a Thai woman, but that would not be my reason for going there. On the western side of Thialand is a place called Phuket, south of Bangkok on the Indian Ocean. It's a touristy spot, gets the larger cruise ships stopping there regularly etc. The thing about this place is the beaches, and the amazing sunsets, perfect for evening photosets. Why do you think everyone who goes there only shoots the nightclub girls? The ordinary girls will not be seen talking to you because they are frightened that everyone will assume they are a prostitute.
Expect a totally different culture, if you stray away from the tourist resorts you are in a different world. Treat Thais with respect and they will treat you with respect back. Act like an American who owns the world, cos he has $10 in his pocket, expect a quick lesson in Thai boxing.
