How you been in another country?

They say "Americans do not travel to other countries that much". I think its not right. So if you are an American have you been to another country?

Yeah, I've been to quite a few countries--UK, Italy, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Mexico. Not to mention the Philippines (I was born in the P.I.)

Sure US folks travel - Iraq and Afghanistan are both favorite locations and charter flights are a speciality for these group tours

Seriously.. you want to establish this on GFY??? Don't think so Chances are US webmasters do travel more than other US people - it's one of the benefits of being on the net. Otherwise... not so much, but depends what you are comparing.

A few months and 10 grand is barely enough for Europe. I can't even imagine the time and monetary requirements for a proper full world tour.

Think about it this way. Europe and US/Canada are the most expensive places. Africa, India, Asia, they shoudn't cost that much..

True, but the Oz and Kiwi leg still sounds expensive. Forget about the length of time on the trip and loss of productivity. I couldn't even imagine crossing borders on the other side of the world with a laptop full of porn work. I hate customs.

Have you ever tried Windows Remote Desktop? Works just like your own computer only everything is stored remotely But of corse going on a trip like that you'll need to forget about working..

Depending on where you go, this is true. I hardly come across Americans in large numbers, and I travel all the time. Europeans travel like their lives depend on it. Same with Aussies and the Japanese.

I once spend an entire month in Venezuela and only ran into ONE other American. ONE!!!!!

Now... if you're going to the Caribbean or Mexico, you will find Americans in large numbers. But South America or Asia... nope.

I have. Somewhere in this site, I posted about it.

I bought an "around the world" plane ticket, and totally by coincidence, it was an 80 day trip!!! I went around the world, by chance, in 80 days.

I flew 7 PCs from South Africa to Bulgaria - didn't excpect any problems but just in case I triple-locked/hid all my porn folders. When I came here I totally forgot how I did it on two of the PCs - I think I spent 2 hours trying to figure it out

some stats I found relating to other countries:

18% Americans
78% of New Zealanders
84% of Brits
50% Australians
71% Belgians

that's all I could find. These were all stats from 4 years ago, so they should even take into account (for the US) the tightening of borders following 9/11

I finished my smoke and couldn't get back in.

The fucker only buggered off and nomatter what I said to the security that replaced him, they wouldn't let me back in the airport. That was until I showed them my passport and tickets Wto prove that I was mid-transit and hadn't even passed through immigration and thus didn't even have a vistors visa stamp in my passport

Would never happen today I'm sure, but it was amusing how my innocence got me into the US without any immigration check.
