I've thought the same thing for the past 5 years now. Bunch of crap getting released these days, very few good movies sneek in from time to time.

it's all about what type of movie you go to see at the theatre. you have to go for action movies like apocalypto or some shit. where you can get the full effect of the mayan's tearing out the hearts of slaves with their bare hands. standing there in full head dress and face paint while the crowd roars with excitement.

now if i was at home id probably get bored with that movie. but in the theatre it has more effect.
