Even members of congress get them and talk about them on the floor. Senator Allen was talking about getting them behind the walls of congress, which have to be the best protected computer in the world.
You know when spyware is infecting us senators's computers that they're going to do some serious smacking down

As adult webmasters, we should all be labelling our porn sites and posting links to help parents protect their pc's, as well.

Of course, this won't help parents stop their kids from installing "free emoticons" that install Zango in the background - but that isn't porn related anyway.

Did you watch the Senate hearings on porn on the Internet on CSPAN about six months ago? The two Senators in charge of the Senate Tech Department had no idea what email was.

People need to learn that you can't just click "yes" and "i agree" and "next" to shit they aren't reading.

"There's nothing free on the web" doesn't cut it. It's common sense, and it goes with the age-old adage "there's no such thing as a free lunch".

Tons of shit just latches on to your browser and works in the background without giving you the option of saying "Yes" and "I agree"

                  You know that.

I got spyware once form visiting a lyrics website. I didnt agree to anything, my whole computer just got slow and next thing I knew I has tons of spyware. I had to reformat to get rid of it all

Have her download WebRoot's Spysweeper. The only EFFECTIVE spyware removal tool out there. IMHO, of course.

As for the issue of the industry fucking itself up..... Whenever you get an industry where people, with minimal to decent effort, can make a lot of money, you'll always get a few that will push the boundaries. Unfortunately, it ends up fucking the honest players as well. I share your concern since webmasters are trapped between the inefficacy of self-regulation and the iron hand of govt regulation.

He's underage and now getting porn popups all over. She cant get rid of the spyware, and now he can't use his computer.

He's mentally disabled and wouldnt know to go to porn sites to get this spyware, it just went on his computer from wherever. And she monitors him anyways.

And another thing is fucking Windows Defender wont install, its needs this plugin and that plugin and she cant install it.
I have her using adaware and spybot S&D, but thats not going to get rid of everything. She didnt know any of these programs.

Imagine the millions of people that cant use their computer and getting porn popups when they didnt want it. Im so pissed right now
BTW if you sued those companies you would win

POpping porn with no age verification on ubderaged kids Ouch

Hey if anything you would get something. Great Legal Extortion they would settle

We (the industry as a whole) are our own worst enemies.

When I fix my neighbours spyware problems, the best solution is a reformat.

and if you a computer for work, never let kids use it, thats just asking for troubles
