:stoned ***** Paris finally is suing parisexposed.com *****

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/....ap/index.html

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Paris Hilton filed a federal lawsuit Monday, seeking to shut down a Web site that displays personal photos, videos, diaries, and other belongings once kept at a storage facility.

The Web site was launched last week claiming the items were auctioned off after Hilton neglected to pay the Los Angeles-area storage facility. It also promises visitors who pay a fee of $39.97 access to Hilton's passport, medical records and other legal documents.

In her lawsuit, Hilton said she put her possessions in storage two years ago when she and her sister, Nicky, moved out of a house that had been burglarized.

The 25-year-old heiress said a moving company was supposed to pay the storage fees and was "shocked and surprised" to learn her belongings were sold at a public auction.

"I was appalled to learn that people are exploiting my and my sisters' private personal belongings for commercial gain," Hilton said in a declaration supporting the lawsuit, adding she was concerned the information could be used for identity theft or harassment.

The lawsuit alleges defendants Nabil and Nabila Haniss paid $2,775 for the contents of the storage unit and later sold the items for $10 million to entrepreneur Bardia Persa, who created the site ParisExposed.com.

Phone numbers for Nabil and Nabila Haniss of Culver City could not be located. Persa did not immediately respond to an e-mail Monday seeking comment.

Hilton's publicist Elliot Mintz said that she would like the site shut down and "would like all of these items returned to her."

What a dumb twat. She was warned over and over again that this was going to happen. They have had segments on ET et. al., saying that she skipped out on a bill etc PRIOR to the auction and in order to prevent her stuff from being sold, all she had to do way pay...why the hell wouldn't she do anything about it at the time? Because she is STUPID lol

What a score for the duo with matching names!! lol

probably just an oversight on their part and forgetting to use https instead of http since https://www.parisexposed.com/signup is indeed secured.

So you are saying it's ok to steal copyrighted material, as long as you edit out the copyright statement.

I guess it's ok for people to hack you site and steal your content then, just as long as they edit out the 2257 docs.

This is typical bullshit....she should sue the moving company as they are ideally the one responsible!?!? If they were "supposed" to pay her storage bill and didn't then they would be the ones responsible.

Storage contracts are straight forward that your contents will be auction in X amount of days and you lose all rights if the bill is not paid. Just another case of celebrities taking advantage of the system.

I doubt she really wants the site shut down, probably just a little cut of it. You see, for people like Paris, all publicity is good publicity.

Pamela Anderson is probably really upset that Paris is stealing her trick.

The lawsuits are the best part. The mainstream media keeps reporting them, but they are likely just a ruse to keep the site in the news. Watch the Alexa graph over the next couple of weeks as this bounces around.

If she wanted it shut down, it would take about a day. Contact the FBI, say "this site is using nude images of me without model releases and proper 2257 paperwork" and they would come in and make the bust. End of problem.

The site and its owner isn't a US based entity is it? What jurisdiction does the FBI have?

I would really like to think you're right on that score Raw Alex, but i honestly think that even this bimbos lawyers aren't clued in enough to the whole 'adult world' thing to recognize that without a model release and proof of age at the time of creation is enough to shut a site down immediately. FBI is one thing but registrars, hosting, billing... all the side line players would be jumping to protect themselves with a C&D from someone as rich and well known as paris Hilton.

First I bet the reason it took so long was her lawyers wanted to make sure they had their ducks in a row. Secondly how is this bullshit, I can see they put pics and videos of her fucking but bank statements and medical records, they really crossed a line.
