Discuss what's fucking going on, and which programs are best and worst. One-time "program" announcements from "established" webmasters are allowed.

Is the new trend to just keep opening new affiliate programs?

I am seeing this alot lately...multiple programs instead of everything under one roof.

Thoughts please?

Just getting ready to go to Tahoe for Webmaster Access. You going?

On topic, in years past if you opened up another program under another name you were hiding something etc. Now the new trend seems to be to open another program with another payout, type of join, type of site etc. Nothing wrong with it, I just wonder how well it will work. All under one roof makes it easier for you to get your name out there. I have a hard time remember all these affiliate program names! LOL

If you spread it out does it make it harder for you to gain market share?

I doubt that's the main reason, webmasters tend to jump on new programs, fresh sites, fresh content. Different brands for different webmaster target groups...I think it's pretty clever, the only thing I hate is that checking stats, grabbing content and keeping an overview becomes harder and harder.

I tried alot of new programs lately, although, with a few exceptions, those around for years still work best for me. Established sites and well known brands, surfers thrust them, they know what they'll get as a member. I only pick new sites that offer something unique, if it's a copy of a copy of a copy, it never converts like the original site.

Coke, Diet Coke, Caffeine Free Coke, Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, etc at least are branded under the Coke name so they have recognition.

Using different names to gain market share loses that, unless they say "another great mikey company" or something like that on all their programs.

People want to be seen as "innovative" when in fact they're doing nothing but repeating a formula that's worked for them and other programs many times over the years.

It's been quite a while since anything "new and exciting" came out of the porn industry, IMHO.

We have opened nearly 50 sites all under the Lightspeed brand. Unfortunately, many of those were not "barely-legal solo girl" sites, and failed miserably. The same branding that helps us make sales in one niche has actually hurt our ability to make gains in any other. Does anyone think webmasters looked to Lightspeed for quality gay sites, or shemales?

When an affiliate joins Lightspeedcash, they ask "What are your top converting sites?" --- Does it make sense to add 50 more sites when most webmasters are only willing to push a few (at most) from any given sponsor? I've often felt that some of our newer REALLY GREAT sites have underperformed because they were overshadowed by Tawnee Stone and Jordan Capri.

I think it makes sense to brand a program to a specific niche or market, then OWN it. If you want to tackle another market, then another program is probably the best path.

That said, I've just given away my secret plans for 2007! Stay tuned, its gonna be BIG!

There's nothing new about the trend, but it is a trend.
