Make me feel better about myself? Are you kidding me? If there's something about myself I don't like, I _gasp_ take fucking responsibility for myself and change it. Getting a little too heavy? Eat better, more exercise. Don't know something? Read more maybe take a class. People should stop trying to make do with what they have and instead shoot for the stars. Really guys, it's okay, you can do it.

You do no service to any morbidly obese person by pussy footing around the truth. "She's not fat, she's big boned" or "she's got a very pretty face" and all that nonsense have been used for too long.

have you ever been overweight? (by 50 lbs or more?)

MissMina 02-17-2007 11:26 PM

Do you say the same to people who smoke cigarettes, or drink excessively or do drugs and the list goes on and on. It's really the same thing. Don't be a hypocrite.
I know being very overweight is detrimental to my health. You think I don't know that? In fact I wouldn't mind losing some weight. But I will never be a size 2. I will never be YOUR image of perfection but keep an open mind that while I am not YOUR image of perfection; I am someone elses.

To each his or her own. Do you see me going in the thin models threads and saying yuck omg feed her a cheeseburger. She looks like a boy with no chest or curves etc? She looks anorexic or bulimic. No because well that's not my style to be a rude immature prick like some people.

To each their own. I'm not sorry for being fat. I am what I am. If if makes you feel better by being rude and insulting then fine go ahead. You are not hurting my feelings one bit.

With that being said I am done with the trolls on here. For those who have had an open mind and been a decent human being. Thank you. I applaud and respect you. You get back the respect that you give. You give none. You get none.

Yes I absolutely have. January 1st of 2006 I was about 240 pounds and around 24% bodyfat. Why? Because I got lazy after a car accident and used it as an excuse, to myself, to not go to the gym. Even worse I somehow convinced myself that since I was already overweight a bit, what the fuck, just eat whatever I wanted.

What happened? I took a look at myself and said enough is enough, took control of my life again, and worked my ass off in the gym. Now I'm about 12% bodyfat again. It wasn't easy, but it was what I wanted.

the way it sounds is that you were in good shape to begin with and then you gained weight because of a car accident and then lost it again.
things are very different when you've been overweight since childhood.

Absolutely agree. And you know what? I was a retard for probably 10 years, a heavy, heavy smoker. I fully admit it was just stupid and I may well still pay a price for it later on in life. I'll be the very first to stand up and say "hey I was an idiot".

Heavy booze or drug use? Same thing. My friends, who are alcoholics, hear from me all the time about it. I poke and prod and make fun. I don't do it to make myself feel better, I do it because I hope they'll honestly do something about it. There's no sense being the kind of person that empowers people and their bad habbits; It really serves nobody.

Again, there's no need to be a size 2. We don't all have to look like Barbie Dolls but I think we should draw the line somewhere. When the extra weight truly becomes a burden and a health risk, well fuck, why not change your life?

Well that may well be. I wouldn't say I was in all that good of shape to begin with, at least not by virtue of anything other than youth.

Again, I'm not saying you need to live a health freak life in the gym and at the juicebar. But honestly, I _KNOW_ if you worked at it, you could drop below the line where it stops being a vanity thing and becomes a health thing. :2 cents:

MissMina 02-17-2007 11:46 PM

Bottom line is this. No one here has any right to judge anyone......

yeah i understand.
i did lose a bunch of weight a while back...but i didn't change my lifestyle...so its back on my big ol' booty. lol
i am always ready to start over with trying to get in shape and be fit. i've had my share of first days "back on the wagon." if i fall off, i'll try again.
i try something different everytime to try and stay on the wagon.
i have been majorly overweight since i was 4 years old...so i'm kind of used to it lol. i am and always have been very confident in myself. i never felt any different than anyone else. i'm lucky that way. so i don't feel i HAVE to be thin to be worth something, but i know that i could be more fit, so that's why i keep trying.

Keep trying, you can do it. It's very difficult, because food becomes a fill in. When we're sad or bored food can seem like a comfort.

One tip I always tell people is you don't have to make it all or nothing. Cutting out all of the things you like to eat, and let's face it sugar and fat taste gooood, will never work. Moderation is the key.

Change soda for diet soda, no fat cooking spray for oils. Use herbs and spices instead of fats and sugars. Give yourself one day a week to let loose and eat whatever you like.

It's never easy or we'd all look like Adonis. Little changes and keep at it, because in the end, it's really all for you.

People are often surprised about what they're actually eating. I use pop as an example a lot because many people consume it without even thinking.

When I started getting back in to shape, I kept an actual diary of all the things I ate each day. I'd literally write down, you know, 1 apple, 2 bannanas, one cup of rice, one breast of chicken, one can of chicken stalk, half an onion, etc etc. At the end of the day I'd add it up. After a few weeks of checking the various fat, protein, carb and caloric value of foods I got a much better handle on what I was eating. I was surprised how much I was actually eating, without even thinking about it really.

The most basic changes that will have a large effects are to cut out refined sugars, white breads, and extra fats (like mayo, butter and what not) that don't occur naturally in foods.

lol yeah i know.
that diary thing works well in so many different situations.
i know a bunch of people who say that they're sooo busy and they have no time for anything. i always think to myself, if they wrote down exactly what they did in a day they'd realize that if they actually scheduled their life they would have a lot more time than they think.

I think it is the people who use to be fat that criticize fat people more then anyone else. Fat people who lost weight will rip on a fat person more then a skinny person will ever insult a fat person. An ex smoker will insult a smoker more then someone who never smoked.

I think people do this because they hate the way they were when they were like that, so they insult those people even more to make themselves feel better and because they think well if I could lose weight so could they. They hate the way they were so now they just hate all fat people. Instead of being more understanding because they know what it was like to be insulted now they get off of on insulting people because for once they can. for once they are not the fat person. Its like the kid that is picked on in school suddenly becomes popular and instead of being cool to the nerds he picks on them more than the cool kids ever did before.

Sad people have to be this way.

I don't see the big deal. If someone is fat they are fat. If they are gay they are gay, if they want to smoke fine, just don't blow it my way. As long as they don't push it on you or throw it in your face why insult them? This is a BBW thread, why even read it in the first place if you dont like them? besides the obvious that your mental age is 13 ?

well for me, "BBW" is an oxymoron which provides no tumescence.

but i won't be rude and hurt people's feelings.

but i am practical so i will preach.

fat folks are unhealthy.

fat people have higher medical expenses.

and in the western world if you buy private health insurance you have seen premiums soar dramatically in the last 10 years, at a rate much higher than inflation.

this is largely due to rising rates of obesity in the western world.

so everyone pays when people get fat. it costs more to fly across the country because airlines have to buy more fuel due to weight increases, etc.

forget aesthetics, it's physics, science, reality. the argument that "i am fat and it is my decision to be fat" is irresponsible because it effects everyone in society.

the BBW idea is a compensatory concept. fat is unhealthy, not beautiful.

I do? Really? How do you know that? LOL I haven't had to go to the doctor for any health issues in 5 years, and even then when I did go it was to quit smoking. So aside from the occasional bottle of excedrin lol my medical expenses are ZERO.

will76 02-18-2007 11:33 PM

Girls, don't fight with the haters, you are wasting your time.

You are not going to cure their ignorance no matter what you say.

I don't know why so many people are not tolerant of people who are different then they are. I don't know why they have the urge to post something here to insult others because that person isn't their taste. Why does it bother you if someone is black, fat, gay, skinny, jewish, whatever.

Just ignore them, maybe one day they will grow up.

badmunchkin 02-18-2007 11:39 PM

I hate fat; on girls and on myself - I don't hate fat girls but I'm literally disgusted & repulsed by any fat so I can't be attracted to a BBW

E.Kant 02-19-2007 12:54 AM

nope , no hand up over here

LushBoobs 04-13-2011 10:42 AM

wow.. this thread - a microcosm for our society. sigh. really?

Sarah_Jayne 04-13-2011 03:15 PM

what a strange thread to bump

SleazyDream 04-13-2011 03:17 PM

this thread is proof of just how many idiots exist on GFY. They can't ecen accept that some people like big girls, that some people are attracted to the person, and have to put others down to make themselves feel good.

Do I like BBWs? depends on the girl. I don't like all skinny girls either. I'm more of a WHO you are kind of guy them what you look like. Some looks draw me in and make me drool, and some people do. All depends.
