That's a shame. Use it as an excuse to go to Tijuana when you get home.

He has tons of bottles and stuff at his house. (rugs/bottles/dart boards/ jackets.. everything) .. if he has it he'll give it to me no problem. I'll be at his house for Super Bowl .. if he has it I'll hit you up

Brown-Forman is the parent company that owns Jack Daniel's. Is that where he works? Every drop of JD is produced in TN.

It sounds more like your buddy works for a distributor rather than JD or Brown-Forman directly. An East Coast distributor would not have access to items like these under normal circumstances. But stranger things have happened. It wouldn't hurt to look into that option.

Thanks. :pimp

They don't carry these bottles in those Duty Free shops. :(

If they did, I would have cases of them by now. :1orglaugh

I'll get right on that as soon as I get back from taking a shit. :thumbsup

I would have just bought one bottle and hoped that I could charm the folks in Tokyo into letting me keep it. I as a black man have learned many techniques of using charm..If I didn't have it, my life would be much harder.

Brown-Forman sounds familiar but he could work for one of the distributors ... I'll ask him when I see him. Its worth a shot

Priorities are a bitch...but like I always say "you can't rush a good thing", so take your time on the throne and get your ass back on Baddog's flight schedule.

AaronM 01-27-2007 12:24 PM

It just occurred to me that baddog does not have a passport yet....Even though I've encourage him to get one on many different occasions. :(

NO HONG KONG FOR YOU!

Lets see, at the PO, the sign said $180 additional to speed up the process, which takes it from 6 to 8 weeks down to two weeks...oops, don't think you will be gone that long!!!

AaronM 01-27-2007 12:45 PM

I can't believe all the shit they are putting on board not counting luggage.

stevo 01-27-2007 12:47 PM

Too lazy to read the entire thread, but there are two factory sealed Monogram bottles for sale on Ebay right now...

I also have a friend who collects everything that deals with Jack Daniels. Good stuff :winkwink:

And there are 3 with a buy it now price of $144 or so. But that's 3 times what I can get them for IF I can get them. Plus buying off eBay kinda ruins it for me. I like the hunt. This one just keeps eluding me. :(

For collectors, it's almost as much about the hunt, as it is about the bragging rights to show other collectors your collection.

For example, what will happen when you have finally collected all of the Barbies in their original boxes? They will probably just sit it a room talking to each other, except when you have someone over and show them your great collection.

If it's any consolation, I have a feeling JD will keep cranking out rare and therefore expensive collectors items for you to chase as long as they are in business.

Being happy the game is still in play is an alternate way of viewing your situation...

At least she was polite enough to tell you that's the case. Recently a friend of my brought some bottles home from Costa Rica, which they happily sold him, only to have confiscated in the US on his layover because no liquids were allowed on board.

kaori 01-27-2007 01:32 PM

Do they get better with age?? Like can you store one for 40 years??

Then there is Jack Daniel's Silver Select which is a 100 proof version of Single Barrel. Silver Select was created specifically and only for Duty Free shops.

You can't even buy these bottles at the Distillery.

Intresting, I didn't know that.. I'm a big jack daniels drinker

Pretty nice hobby you got there. Glad you collecting good shit and not some whack ass drink. Sorry you couldn't get the bottles. Shows us a pic of your collection if you get a chance.

Screaming 01-27-2007 04:09 PM

buy a bottle, hammer as much of it as u can, then chunk the bottle

youve won on a smaller scale at that point.

sicone 01-27-2007 04:10 PM
