Sheesh... you are actually serious Sambo *LOL*

Cognac and iPod ban for N Korea
The US has banned exports of iPods, fine wines and fast cars to North Korea as part of the punishment for the country's nuclear bomb test last year.
Now... about the fast cars... does that mean another 5000 GM workers get laid off and North Korea does not have to import so much gas??

Webby, surely you realize why several countries have banned luxury goods. Don't tell me I know more about a situation than you? I may even feel educated for a change.

Gotta give you credit Sly - you prob do know a lot more if you are asking that question

Suppose the only market in NK for "fine wine" is going to be for the "higher powers" there? If not, someone in the "sanctions unit" must have mixed the paperwork and should read "fine swine"

The point is largely symbolic. Why should Kim Jong Il be sipping cognac while millions of his people starve?

I do understand that - its just the irony of the whole thing - and as someone said, this stuff will all come in from 'other' sources anyway.

In a way I am glad they are trying not to punish the 'common' people of N.Korea.

Somehow I think it will be symbolic DH - doubt KJ has much problem filling the wine cellar. There are many ways to skin a cat - without it being on the menu ;-)

Of course we could just hit them with some "Kylie"!

20 million Ipods that will only play 'I Should be so lucky, lucky, lucky lucky " over and over again.

Or would that be classed as 'cruel and unusual ?
