mobile broadband in the USA?
What options are there in the states to have wireless broadband (not wifi) across the East Coast? any 3G or something like that?
Also.. is there any need for long term contracts? |

If you're talking tethered 3g phones or airport cards, checkout the biggies like cingular or verizon. The speed isn't bad considering you can go "anywhere".
Edit: What BusterPorn said. |

I have Verizon Broadband access that I use for my laptop. Works quite well, although not the fastest... ~400-700kbps down.

Verizon Wireless. Plan on signing a one year contract, spending $200 for the card, and the $50 a month thereafter.
Great connection and works great for me.

if you need a new laptop buy one when you get here - most sony's with a sim card come with a free 1 month trial of cingular or sprint. Use it while you are here and cancel it whrn u leave.
