For example, I could not trademark BustyAmateurBoobs, but I can trademark BustyAmateurBoobs.com. So now when someone registers the domain .xxx I can't do anything ... I have the trademark to the .com.

That is incorrect.

If you hold the trademark to the .com, and it's for an adult themed website, by extension you would also hold the trademark to the .xxx

All this is moot anyway, chances are a trademark for bustyamateurboobs would not hold up if it was a website about amateurs with busty boobs. It is too descriptive.

The more i know our options about .XXX and the more i know how to hurt them by not buying there stupid domains, it does not bother me any more...
:)

If you are paying 1200 bucks for a trademark, you are paying WAY too much.

Contact Richard Morris at 1-800-4-TRADEMARK (yeah, I know, its too many numbers, just dial it)

A federal trademark is $675 which includes his fee.

Mike, I wonder if the future Dept of Justice and FBI investigations might ensue and they ask you for your list just in case conspiracy (and FTC-related matters, e.g. icm's rumored .xxx pricing) charges arise if .xxx is passed.

If I were one of the "secret" folks involved with ICM, I'd be sweating future bullets every time the doorbell rang or a black suv pulled up in front (like the ones the FBI 2257 inspectors use?)

Thoughts (Mike and/or anyone?)!???

to the best of my knowledge vivid, hustler vp, wicked, ect, no longer believe that parents monitoring their childrens internet activities to prevent them from stumbling upon porn is doing enough.

you can make up your known mind if this means they may be support of XXX

bareskin 01-28-2007 09:51 PM

my thoughts on once the kids find out about the .xxx it's gonna be a game to see whats on a domain hell they'll probably sit there for hours just typing in shit to see whats on the website. Kids are not stupid once they figure it out it's pointless anyways.
But the real reason is money :2 cents:

I have thought the same thing several times over since day one of this issue. Kids aren't stupid and it's the parents job to filter access to adult site in the home, which can be very easily done without technical knowlege and with a little common sense.

the reality of .xxx will be a lot of money for lawyers.
We will certainly not give up our .coms and would just a certainly sue the shit out of anyone registering a .xxx version of our business.
