Fuck NO. I wouldn't vote for the American Evita under any circumstance.

DaddyHalbucks 01-24-2007 09:18 PM

Obama maybe. I'd like to hear more about his positions. So far, he seems to have lots of refreshing candor and likeability.

The female that Panama had is widely regarded here as the biggest political mistake the country ever made. She's so reviled that she travels under heavy guard everywhere and very rarely makes public appearances. All other former Presidents are like rock stars here and travel with no guards and no fear. Imelda Marcos' insanity in the Philippines is yet another example of that type of woman in power and the problems it brought.

I'm not saying that a woman shouldn't be or couldn't be President, in fact I think it's a great idea. What I'm saying is that women like THESE shouldn't be. Hilary Clinton is a soulless, manipulative, calculating cunt who deserves punishment for her crimes, life imprisonment and our collective shame for us allowing her to get this far, not adulation, respect and consideration of her in any leadership position.

So.... you don't like Hillary too much Z?? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :winkwink:

She sounds more like a war criminal than much else *lol*

Seriously... the truth is very few people actually *know* the person they will eventually elect (apart from their own families and friends). There will be the usual base throat-cutting, good words and bullshit, good and bad, about each candidate - but that still gives no clue of the real person. We all think we know, but 99.9999% have no clue.

Add money to that scenario, together with a propaganda machine - and we know far less. Therein lies the weakness and danger of a democracy - and where government ends up a gamble :-)

Fizzgig 01-25-2007 02:29 AM

Isn't anyone voting for Jeb Bush?
:1orglaugh

imho, having a woman president would be a very very very bad idea. Check out the rest of the world (specifically countries that already hate us) and look at how they view women...We'd be even more of a laughing stock then we already are.

The arabs already hate us and they'll always hate us so what difference would it make?

its very interesting that you all think you actually have a choice..well you dont..she is picked by the power elite, not by us..she went to Yale Law school and her husband was a Rhodes Scholar..do your homework people..
Bush 41-Skull & Bones
Clinton-Rhodes Scholar
Bush 43- Skull & Bones
Hillary- Yale Law
Even Kerry was Skull & Bones..

Obama is a patsy put out there to make you think you have a choice..do some solid research of what Hillary was doing while her husband was Gov of Arkansas..Rose Law firm and Iran-Contra..pretty grizzly shit was happening in that state..WAKE UP PEOPLE she dont care about you or me..

Big_Red 01-25-2007 05:49 AM

Yeah, I'm aware that the majority of politics is all about the $. But, when it comes to dealing with countries in the middle east where women are 2nd/3rd class citizens a woman being our representative might not be the best idea...

To use our Vice President's words, it's hogwash. There are quited a few examples of women being successful in the Middle East and in islamic nations.

Ever heard of Golda Meir, or Benazir Bhutto, the President of Pakistan, who, to this day is admired by the people? Ever heard of Indira Ghandi? India has 37 million muslims.

Talking about tough? Remember the Iron Lady, Maggy Thatcher of Britain? Got re-elected too. Even Merkel of Germany may be bland but obviously isn't doing a bad job.

Melina Mercouri once said, if a bad male actor (Reagan) can become president in the USA why should a good female actor (she) not be allowed to become Foreign Minister in Greece?

Too bad that only in the land of the free, where all men (?) are created equal, a woman never became President, so far.

Sydney Sin 01-25-2007 08:54 AM

Why not....maybe a change is needed!

AntiDrama 01-25-2007 08:57 AM

You are sick!

I'll wait to see who's actually running. This speculation is a moot point. I wish the Dems would actually play the game like they want to win (see GOP), get some real strategies and not wait until the last one standing is the one who was least damaged by swiftboat attacks and dirty play.

I loved Bill, but not loving Hillary's stance on several issues.

If I vote my preference, I'd prefer Edwards, but we'll see how the best way not to throw my vote away plays out come 08.

She's got a better chance of being elected though. A black man will get very little votes most likely. There's LOADS of people that are secretly racist..

A good deal of these 'other' countries have already had female leaders. Even Pakistan has had a female leader.

Agent 488 01-25-2007 09:45 AM

and no one gave respect to margaret thatcher?

Agent 488 01-25-2007 09:46 AM

you're right - only in america is a female leader still treated with suspicion.
