    *** IMPORTANT NEWS on Passports

    If you are traveling by air outside of US - (Canada and Mexico included)

    you need a passport. The government is prediction 100's of thousands that will be stranded.


    Get your passports in order if you are traveling by AIR


    The thing that pisses me off is that they have doubled the price of expediting your passport. $194.00

    when i got mine and expedited it was $90 dollars

      Everywhere I have seen says you can get back home, you just cant get into the states.
      Driving across is still fine the old way till sometime in 2008.

      It was only 90 bucks for me to expedite last week. When did it go up?

                                              Currently it only effects you when you fly. You can go to US Territories without any restriction. Boat and driving will be in 2008 and it might get pushed back again.

                                              If you are a US citizen or are Canadian, you should get a NEXUS card. It allows you to skip the inbound customs lines and instead go to a kiosk and get a retina scan and that is your ID.

                                              If you like to go to Mexico you should get a similar pass at the boarder. It is RFID. You get a card to carry with you and a transmitter for your car. It is like a toll road system. You get into an Express Lane and basically just drive on through... The guard makes sure the occupants match the descriptions from the RFID cards when it scans them as you pass by.

                                              In other words... Let the uninformed sit in customs while you sip a latte and read a book.... Or... party...

                                                  Zero Hour for Canadians to get their passports.

                                                  I guess I'll have to go get one sooner or later now. Fun.
                                                  Oh well, luckily I have no plans on leaving the country for a little while.
