Im firmly against them trying to police anything drug-related, but that doesnt mean that im a little stupid idiot screaming "OMG I WISH THERE WAS NO LAWS OMG OMG!!! FUCK THEM POLIZES!!!". I like the fact that we have partial order and i enjoy many of the positive effects of having law enforcement.

The cops have adopted a strategy that it is better to be feared than respected. Tough on crime is the motto. So they present themselves as tough. Public announcements often are threats. TV ads to curb crime show handcuffs being slapped on wrist, jail doors slamming behind people as they enter cells with hard faced murderers, etc....

They want to scare people out of crime...they succeeded...you are scared.


That plus the possiblity that you might encounter a dirty cop.

I'm not a huge fan of the police. I've been pulled over for a few tickets and they have all been overly agressive to the point where one time an officer told me that he should cut up my liscense right there because he sees all kinds of kids breaking the traffic laws on a daily basis and went on a five minute rant about how we are all punks who don't respect the laws, etc. What I really don't like is when you see a police car in your rearview and you see the officer running your plates. What is up with that? I feel as though that is an invasion of privacy as you have given no cause for them to do so. With that logic they may as well go door to door looking into peoples homes and stopping people on the sidewalk too.

In Florida, you are not required to disclose a concealed firearm unless asked.

If anything, most cops are thankful you disclose.

What did you do that pissed off the cop? Looking at it from a 3rd party, I've seen idiot kids in their cars ( I was one and grew up), doing 30plus over the speed limit (In a 35zone), driving like they were at laManns.

Not really, most licensed CCW holders will disclose right off the bat. I'd rather have a cop know I have a gun on my hip and in my center console than him finding out and getting spun up.

I do freak out instantly when I think a cop's after me. Not sure why..probably paranoia stemming from the good ol' days. But I have a sister that's pulled at least 2 cops over for doing dumb stuff. Passing on a double yellow or u-turns in dangerous areas for no reason.

She'll flag them down, and bitch them out...and they seem to take it from a mid 25yr old blonde...though I think they're rather shocked when it happens.

most cops are pretty cool after that though knowing that you carry with a permit at least shows you make an attempt at being a legit honest citizen...at least in the eyes of the state...

in the town I live in I know them all and am really good friends with several of them so no worries for me. If they are pulling me over it is probably just to shoot the shit. :)

when I first moved into my house my neighbors thought I had some crazy party on Super Bowl Sunday because I have a big get together and I told my buddies to tell everyone that was working that day to stop by for some food. So I had cop cars stopping by all day. At one point there were four of them by my house. My neighbors must have thought Pablo Escobar had moved in next door.
