A lot of my friends are like this, but the ones in the inner circle catch a break and I pay for a lot of them, or do not do things they can not afford. It all works out.

The only bad issue is travel. I do a TON of international travel and most of them only get to hear the stories when I get back. I feel kind of bad sometimes, and cash in miles for some of them to fly with me on occasion.

I do what I can to share the wealth with those who supported me when I didn't have money and have picked me off the ground in my darkest hours.

Spunky 01-22-2007 08:52 PM

I will treat my buddies to dinners ,drinks sometimes and they turn around and cook and help me out with stuff..it all works out..that's what friends are for..helping each other

NOTR 01-22-2007 08:53 PM

Teach them how to spam, they will be rich as you in no time.

OR

Keep it to yourself and get richer friends.

tehHinjew 01-22-2007 09:02 PM

I want to learn how to spam
lol tasty
dude bjduf what school do you go to?

CC 01-22-2007 09:04 PM

Maybe you should get off the high horse and hang out with them like a regular friend would. You don't NEED to spend mad cash to have a good time with good friends (and if you do, that's sad). If you want to treat them to a nice meal or trip once in a while, then by all means do so. But don't throw it in their faces or act high and mighty.

If you invite your friends to Vegas for you birthday, then you can pay for them and they shouldn't feel like shit. This is your birthday party and you sponsor it. Why not?
Just don't make it a rule.

With a day-to-day routine like that, sooner or later there will be no more wealth differential between yourself and your buddies. The problem will solve itself.

Think about it.

Giving Is Better than Receiving.

519 is your lucky number, remember it in Vegas.

blazin 01-28-2007 05:30 PM

Learn to enjoy your own company.... I personally love to travel on my own :)

northboy 01-28-2007 05:33 PM

bdjuf, what you need to do is teach your friends how to spam like you so they can make their own money.

I just started doing that. I used to think I'd NEVER enjoy traveling by myself, but sometimes it's nice every once in a while to just do whatever YOU want to do when you want to do it :thumbsup

Blingbaby 01-28-2007 05:36 PM

Oh yah man, that's easy, get a couple oily escorst and you get to blow them at the end too

I am not that stupid, I know he probably meant that if he spends all day with his friends watching movies and playing games, then he will abandon his biz and it will go down.

But I am asking why making that assumption? Not every biz requires working 10 hours daily... if bdjuf already reached such level as success as he did, at the same time living his current lifestyle, then why should that suddenly change? Unless he has just one biz model which is quite risky (which in fact in bdjuf case may be true, but I don't think David-PG knows it)

chodadog 01-29-2007 06:49 AM

If you can't enjoy time with your friends with the bare minimum, then you're probably not all that close to them. As long as we have a couple of chairs to sit on, a deck of cards and some music playing, I'm happy to spend time with my friends.

Sexsitesurfer 01-29-2007 06:55 AM

Dude, educate them in the ways of the IntraNetz so they can "big daddy" pimp it in Vegas with you!

This is very well said. :thumbsup

only take a girlfriend out to a nice restaurant...You can take your friends to all kinds of inexpensive yet good restaurants...

Keep your lifestyle low and you won't make your friends feel uncomfortable...I wore the same batch of t-shirts for three years and I just now ordered more to replace them...It's nice not to have to worry about nonsense like that.

polish_aristocrat 08-14-2007 05:39 AM

so bdjuf, any update?

Anybody have this problem?

Your best friends just can't keep up with you, since you are fine spending money but they are not.

There are so many things I Would love to do with my friends, but most of the time it's not possible unless I pay for them.

Many times my friends say no to a nice supper at a nice restaurant because they don't have the cash.

For example, what I really want to do is go to Vegas for my birthday with my closest friends and party. Nobody would even consider it because they can't afford it.

Now I wouldn't mind paying for my friends when we go out, or maybe even pay a vacation for them. But then THEY feel like shit.

It seems like there is no solution to this problem!
What is one supposed to do in this situation?

Since you sound like you are quite rich and you care about your friends a lot, why not invest in/with them one way or another.

Trax 08-14-2007 06:24 AM

if i wanna take out friends for a nice dinner and can't expect them to pay... i simply pay
what i do to not make them feel like shit is come up with some stupid reason to celebrate
say... hey i won an online poker tournament... made a business deal
you can come up with shit like that... its a small and unimportant lie but ensures you get to have your dinner with poorer friends without having to worry about them feeling like shit...

potter 08-14-2007 06:37 AM

just by them tickets, then tell them. they'l have to go, it's too late to say no since you've already bought the tickets

Seriously, sometimes I face the same problem, but I dont make enough to just hire them or give away money or anything like that, I'm still working on it.
