    This years BIG story?

    What is your money on?

    Something from the past perhaps - ie someone lied about something huge (Diana perhaps)?

    A new war?

    Nuclear bomb some place?


    I'm going for a MASSIVE (9+) earthquake in New Zealand with a Tsunami crossing to Sydney/Brisbane and making a big mess their as well.....

                              It's difficult to predict the biggest 2007 story on a world wide level because it has to be either political or a natural disaster. Neither can be predicted.

                              I think the Saddam trial and execution was mostly just government and media hoopla. Few really gave a damn. Technically it happened in 2006 anyway, and the Israel vs. Hezbollah conflict was the dominating story of the year around the world.

                              No big world wide story for 2007 yet aside from Beckham coming to the US for $250M, but that will surely be topped.

                              In the US the biggest story so far has been those two boys who were kidnapped. Especially that one who was gone for 4 years. We haven't heard the last of that story by any means. Americans don't really care about Iraq anymore, so I can see how that kidnapping could remain in the top spot until the end of the year here.
