You are funny. No way I would move to the USA. First of all, because I would miss my friends and family here.
Second reason, here I can do my work, and talk about it etc. I see a lot of ppl in the US are 'hiding' it. Also I like my freedom and such. And when I call, I would like to call private. And not that some guys are listening WITH me, because the Bush administration wants that. Also that many ppl wear guns etc is a thing I dislike.. But yeah I do like the US when I visit it. But I wouldn't wanna live there.. |

1) First of all regarding my own "fucking stupid opinions". I'm working in the adult business, so it's logical reason that I don't want to do the same business in the country with all those new anti-porn laws (thanks to Mr. Bush and his lovely God) and anti-porn hysteria what was started in the USA during a past few years (you know, I'm reading the XBiz news daily :winkwink: ) Now a few words about the taxes. Here where I live now, I pay only 6% (you may believe it or not, but it's true) of all my income from the online business and 94% goes directly into my pocket. So how much is the tax fee I supposed to pay in the USA? All my income is coming from the Net, so I'm not binded to ANY country - my gross revenue will be a same in any place in the World where I have an Internet cable. 2) As about "jealousy". Could you please show me at least a couple of advantages I could have if I'd live in the USA? The only good point I can see so far, it that life in the USA a bit cheaper in comparison with the place I'm living now. But if I'd decide to find a place with a most cheapest live, I'll move to some other place for sure. So is there anything else I have to be jealous about? |
No way! Really, I wouldn´t like to see my children growing up into that culture.

The laws in the states are nuts. You have a vice-presidental aide on trial for leaking the name of a cia agent, but the trail is a sham because everyone, internationally, knows your president is going to pardon him asan. Nice. R |
Americans like to bash America out loud so much that I think people who haven't been here have a rather skewed view of things. I agree that it's likely headed the way of most "empires" eventually but I also think that any government by nature is going to have inherent corruptions. The level to which those corruptions effect you depend on where you cross paths with said government and how long that government has been around, deteriorating and approaching it's next revolt/restructure.

It's just funny sometimes how it's perfectly acceptable for people to shit all over the country most of us make the majority of our income selling to, but it's NOT okay when people defend it. It's group-think at its worst, and it just makes me shrug and move on. |

No, I was saying that I didn't *see* any stupid replies yet, having read through the thread. I was applauding the overall maturity of the discussion. |
edgeprod, BTW what's the current tax rate in the States?

For the $2,500/year my account charges, all of my taxes are prepared, paid out of my account for me, and I'm worry-free. I just sign it and authorize the payment. |
I would be thinking about 3 seconds and then I would start packing

What I remember of the East Coast was the cold, whereas Vancouver has that nice wind that heats it up to a reasonable temperature. If I had to choose between the two, it'd be Vancouver. From March on, I'll be living full time at the lake house, and it's beautiful over there, so I'll stay right here for now, haha. 35 miles wide, 350 miles of coastline, some awesome boating and general relaxation. I finally said "fuck it," and started packing up this place to leave it for good. |
