Are you a new webmaster? within the past 2 years?

How are things going?
what have you found to be the most difficult thing to become successful?

I've been at it for about 3 months, just getting over the learning curve. I've made about $4500 so far, mostly dating sites, a bit of porn and other various products.

For the most part, the first few months consisted of teaching myself the industry, blogging, a bunch of SEO, and how the porn industry works in general.

Motivation is the hardest part for me. I have all the time and tools necessary to build 10x the sites and traffic that I have now, I just can't find the will to do it and end up just jerking off and watching some tv. Weed helps with the tedious shit though.

I'm considering working for a program as opposed to promoting one myself... A set amount of guaranteed income and deadlines motivate me.

Did you ever think that the wacky weed is what's keeping you from being motivated? My guess is that you'll never blame the real problem here, and make up some excuse about the work being tedious and boring. Kick the buds man, it only makes you stupid.

Running paysites/aff prog takes MUCH more time than I first though when I started. It's like FOREVER with work waiting...

Like it though..

If I was starting out just 2 years ago - I wouldnt know where to start.

If I were to start out today - I would be broke in 2 months.

Coming up on a year now. Finally getting a handle on the blog thing. Still only part timing it. Getting steady traffic definitely sucks. Dealing with Fusker style sites definitely sucks. Surviving through the dead months totally sucks.

Still having fun though :D

I'm new. I've been sending traffic to some company called IEG's sites for 6 months now but I haven't received a check. I tried to contact their affiliate reps but the phone number listed is a disconnected number in Thailand.

Can you give me any advice on how to get my money?

True, with a lot of people weed is anti-motivating. And yes, it dumbs you down, but thats the point. Every tedious job i've had, cooking, office work, outdoor work, i've always smoked while working. I can sort of zone out and do the work without having to think about how boring and tedious it is.

I'm also a fulltime musician, so I smoke when I make music. The weed actually motivates me to make music, and enhances creativity by a LOT.

I know weed smokers get defensive when criticized about their habit, when all it is doing is making their dumbasses dumber, but for me personally it is not the case.

Collections is the hardest part, amazing how some sponsors will ignore you when you have earned past the minimum payout and they still dodge paying you.
