Very nice name :thumbsup . One of the few .mobi's that makes real sense given the possible convergence of cellphones and payment options.

i saw the guy that bought it..was a very handsome well hung fellow..

some nice domains, but some very OVERPRICED.

Like some of you, I'm not convinced that .mobi will be that compelling in the future---admittedly, my opinion might be tainted by the fact that I own a lot of domains starting with the word "mobile".

most mobi domains got passed right over, after a while he just stopped even trying to get bids for them.

I wouldn't touch ussenate.com or fcc.com with a 10 ft. pole, waaaay too likely to bring unwelcome attention from the wrong people.

sportsbook.mobi sold for 129k. not at this auction, mobis didn't do well but virgin.mobi got up to 17k but didn't hit reserve.

virgin.mobi didnt hit any number..the auctioneer just started going up to 17k..there was no bidder at 17k it was basically what someone set as their reserve..it was the same on almost all the domains that didnt sell or come anywhere near the reserve asked for them.

You have one right now, you just have to use it. Like I say most of these prices will seem VERY cheep in another couple years. There are other auctions, forums, conferences, etc. Pick up the best names you can.

There was one of the domain sellers that had several domain names listed, and fucked up the reserve prices. So a bunch said reserve between 1-5000.00 There was only one I wanted, and I started to bid then they jumped to 100k on it rofl. All the sheets there showed the 1-5000.00 reserve. Kind of shitty. :(

Hehehe... I´m not really thinking you are completely wrong, but there is more than a handful .mobi domains that are good. The mobilephone is more important than the world wide web to the new generations. If they had to choose, then they would choose their mobilephones. However it will not be a batlle between .com or .mobi, because most people will be able to access the internet via both their computers and mobilephones, which opens for some interesting ideas :thumbsup

The problem with .mobi is that it risks loosing it's entire reason for existing (as a "gated community" for WAP compatible sites only) in the next few years, as more and more phone and PDA (like the iPhone) find ways to display regular HTML sites on smaller but ever growing screens.

Ya the auctioneer started by saying 1 do I have 1, and someone bid, and I raised for 2 thinking 2,000.00 which I was going to bid maybe 8 to 10k on it was my limit. And he goes 200,000.00 and I started laughing at him. I bitched to the moniker guys a bit about that. If the reserve is on the sheet and there is a change it should of been either noted by the auctioneer or put up on the big screen by the domain name. Made me feel like an ass for a minute for sure. lol I really didnt figure Id get it, and it would probably go for 20k or more, but 100k or more was sure pushing it, and not surprisingly it didnt sell. lol

A LOT of people were complaining about the reserves being different from what they'd seem listed. Seems like changing reserve at the last minute should get you a kick in the *
