Best/reliable domain registery is...

I have a friend who needs to register about 10 non adult domains for their mainstream company. They need a good reliable place to do it. I heard bad things about godaddy. Not sure where to tell her to go.

We use Bulkregister and they do like to ass rape you so I don't recommend them.. any ideas??

what bad things have you heard about godaddy other than their hosting?

I have used them for 7 years, over 1000 domains in and out of that place, mostly adult nasty domains, and NEVER had any issue

in fact, godaddy has abut the quickest update to domains in the world....I change dns and it is ready in 1-5 minutes

I'm about to move all of my domains to Moniker. Moniker and Domain Name Systems are about the only two registrars that seems to really be professional about their business and about protecting the interests of their clients.

Godaddy is pretty solid. I have several hundred domain names there, never any incident.

Also, just a clarification... a Registry is the place that keeps the database of domain names - a Registrar is where you register them.

IE - Verisign is the .com and .net registry
GoDaddy is the registrar.

I mostly use godaddy, but Enom is good too, and I am tempted to give moniker a try.

Registerfly will fuck you.
Godaddy does not like adult and would prefer not to have it. I know these are for non-adult domains but I wouldn't go with a moralistic registrar regardless of adult or not. This is a business.
Also didn't a registrar recently ask for ID of people on a site registered with them, an illegal and irresponsible request? (I remember but I'm not 100% sure so I'm not gonna say) But that request was not from Moniker.
Moniker has stated that without a court order they will not take down your shit. If you value your domains I'd recommend them.

yup, it happened to me as well - not 100% sure but I think it was hostway.com, I was looking for 20 cheap .infos, and tried to reg them and they asked for an id and I told them to fuck off

again, not 100% sure that is was hostway.com

Did you just hear they don't like adult or have you actually experienced them not liking adult?? I have hundreds of domains with them and at least 25% of them are adult related (a few extremely vulgar names) and the reps have actually made fun of a few of the names before...zero problems with GoDaddy.
