I haven't had to wait that long for propagation in a long time.... most propagate for me in less than 24 hours.....

What's your caching default set to? Take that number
and add 48-72 hours for total worldwide coverage.

i believe the ttl (time to live) setting will influence propagation times.

It starts after about 12 hours, generally... Takes the rest of the 48-72 to make its way around the web. I usually see good propagation about 24-48 hours after a change. Some people see it before 24, though.

actually, if you ttl setting is very high, it will take much longer. if it's low, much faster.

depends how the expiration is setup. i've seen a few companies now (likewhoa for instance) which set their dns entries to be cached for 1800 seconds (30 mins)
