Best anti virus software?

I have Nortons and I have Mcafee. I do not get virused so i guess they both work but Mcaffe is on my laptop and it is always shut off because it could not connect to verify something. It refuses to work with firefox so i have to cut and paste and freak around to verify this crap.

Nortons i do not use as much but someone told me they are not good. So what is it?

Thanks.

I've heard PandaSoft is the best these days...but apparently there are a lot of really good ones out there now, EXCEPT FOR NORTON AND MCAFEE. I've heard that because they've got such a large market share, they can afford to be comparatively lazy. Brand awareness is huge, and they have oodles of lucrative relationships with retailers; whereas newer companies must really put in 110% to get their foot in the door and vie for a piece of the pie.

Nod32 http://www.eset.com/ is BY FAR the best anti virus that I've ever used. I HIGHLY recommend it.

ONLY Kaspersky.

I tried McAfee, Norton and Panda. And Kaspersky found the most viruses among them.

Nod32 is freaking amazing. It uses the least system resources and has the best detection rate of any AV software on the market.

Actually Kaspersky has the best detection rate, followed by Nod32, Some people perfer Nod32 because its faster. Kaspersky is really slow the first time you run it because it builds an index for itsself.

According to http://www.av-comparatives.org/ Nod32 is considerably better than Kapersky. The most recent test there shows Nod32 is a better choice.

Panda used to be the best but it's big, fat and slow by today's standards. My panda subscription just expired. I won't be back until they can hang with nod32.

i'd go with kaspersky

though i dont believe that it's the best, in my personal list of preffered antiviruses, norton comes first, kaspersky second, the rest i dont care.
though, norton seriously slows your pc, regardless of your resources.

We sell Panda so i wish it had come in higher as I have a discount for buying it myself. Nod looks like it gets the nod though.

thanks for playing.
