New Banking Compliance Regulations
Is globill the only processor making these changes? I have not heard anyone else mention it anywhere.
Here is part of the letter they sent: ---------------------------------------- Dear Webmaster, NEW BANKING COMPLIANCE REGULATIONS ----------------------------------- The merchant banking industry has issued new regulations, which are really old regulations that are now being strictly enforced across the industry. The purpose is to reduce online chargebacks, identity theft, and cardholder confusion. The prime strategy in this regard is to reduce doubt in the cardholder's mind as to which entity is the merchant. The merchant is defined as the entity responsible for obtaining credit card information, safeguarding it, and charging a transaction. YOUR SPECIFIC DUTIES -------------------- The current regulations now stipulate: 1- You MUST remove all credit card logos from your web site. These logos can only appear on the merchant's (GloBill.com) signup pages. 2- You MUST use specific language when linking to Globill. Namely Globill should be linked to as 'Globill.com is the authorized sales agent for [your website name]

I havent heard the thing about the logos -- quite frankly using the logos could be a trademark violation anyway, not sure on that -- but the wording on the second part is standard, or at least it was where I used to work for years

the logos on the page (visa, mc, etc.) have always been a policy
nothing new you must display what credit cards you accept. |

Kimmykim,
You mean all the stores that have the Visa/Mastercard logo on a sign which shows the customers which cards they take are a trademark violation? ;) Payrollpete, you said "you must display what credit cards you accept." I don't think you read the message correctly, they are telling everyone that they CAN NOT show the logos to which credit cards they accept. Now a web visitor has to click on a link and go to globills page to see if the processor even takes the credit card that he/she has.

Epoch is well aware of all of the upcoming changes related to credit card processing for adult transactions. Removal of the credit card logos is primarily a Mastercard issue but it is probably wise to remove all cc logos from your sites. The logos will reside on the payment page of your processor. Epoch is still waiting on final confirmation of changes from VISA and MC and once known an email will be sent to those who need to make any changes.
These are but a few of the changes that the card associations will be implementing over the next few months. However VISA and MC have asked us not to make these public until finalized, however you should know that we are all over this. Clay EPOCH http://www.epochsystems.com/sales |

The CC companies don't want their logo on a porn site, but they don't hesitate to collect their profit thats for sure.
Lame. |
