I've done it, more than once.

It's great here we have a lot of great beaches and some fo them are almost desert in June and September (before and after most people have hollidays).

I always have a towel to go back to on the sand but there's nothig wrong with doing it in the sea (unless the water is too cold). I love it and girls love it too.
