stupid are those that give stupid answers knowing that they actually have no idea what they say, and that happens everywhere around the globe. There are those though that simply say "i dont know", and you cant really call them stupid, just ignorant, which is not really a bad thing.

for example, i'd rather put my life in the hands of a doctor that knows jack about the country he's living, than in the hands of a doctor that spends half a day learning geography and doesnt give himself the time to learn all there is about medicine.

Just met a US couple at the weekend (nice folks... but) - he was a surgeon, his wife a lecturer - and the dialog was something out of this planet. It's still a talking point among us today - can't believe educated/qualified people have so little clue.

Never ask about geography. It's just not popular in the US. Also never ask where the Caribbean is, or ask for something to be sent there - they'll send it to the Indian Ocean. Tell em Namibia is an up and coming world power and they will attempt to have an intelligent discussion over it - they have no idea where it is. (This can be fun at times You can talk shit to the dumb and tax their braincells and wait for the stupid responses - but keep a straight face *lol*)

Sure.. not all people are dumb, but there is a high level of total unawareness, and the rate you will get stupid comments is high. Others are 100% sensible and have a good command of reality - they'd laugh their heads off reading the stupidity on GFY.
