Roxicodone..
So I had some medical procedures done recently and the doctor prescribed me to 30 mg Roxicodone. I've been taking 1 every day for the last week and a half. I had a feeling I'm starting to get somewhat dependent on them, and I don't feel right when I don't have one in my system. So I stopped taking them after last Thursday. So I haven't taken one in 2 days. It's really hard and I feel like I need (and want) one bad. I'm also very easily aggravated. Now...the pain is back so I'm pondering if I should take one tomorrow. Or maybe just half of one. I don't want to have to go through these withdraw type symptoms again, but I'm thinking since I went 2 days without touching them that maybe if I took a half tomorrow I should be alright to get through longer without them. Any thoughts/advice? |

 | Break them in half man, those things are pretty strong. I actually had one myself today but shh don't tell anyone. Seriously not something you want to get addicted to, you will feel like you need to take them even just to get out of bed in the morning..If you really do need them then I would break them in half and try only having them once or twice a day. Its much better then taking actual vicodin because it doesn't have any asprin in it, But anyway hope you get better

 | The actual physical withdrawel lasts about 2-3 days, well it did for me at least, (your stomach will hurt, might have a headache for a couple hours, you will constantly get hot from cold, cold to hot) It really isnt that bad, but after those 2-3 days its all in your head from there...

Ya, I thought I remember it only lasting 2-3 days. Tomorrow will be my 3rd day, and it clears out of your system in 12 hours...So I'm thinking I may be fine if I take some tomorrow then stop again for a few days. Hmmmmm!!!

the BEST thing you can do is call your doc and explain what is happening, and ask him if he can prescribe you something to rotate days with if you take the ones you have now one day, then something else the next day, and vice versa....much better that way!

 | well, i guess now that your body has the dependency locked into it, then yeah....I would still ask for something else from the doc...possibly Tramadol or Talwin. I do well on Talwin, it is a great pain reliever one thing is for sure, your body is easy ;) haha |

 | keep in mind, that once your body is introduced to that dependency, it doesn't mater if you take 1 in a week or 1 in a year, your body has a memory for that addiction.... my wife went through some pretty serious shit a few years back and had to take hydrocodone every day for almost a year....she is to the point now that if she takes ONE pill she has withdrawals |

 | That's crazy. It sucks, too, because they do their job so well. I'm just glad I haven't been taking this that long. I think I'll just chill out and only take one occasionally. |

 | Roxicodone is just another name for Oxycodone. Oxycodone is most of often know as Percocet or OxyContin. Good stuff and highly addictive. |

 | Roxicodone is different than Oxycontin. It's made by Roxane Labs. It's not as strong as oxycontin, but you get more of the euphoria. That's why people like roxicodone more...and why they're probably more mentally addicting. :-\ |

 | by the way, i take about 600mg a day of tramadol. it becomes less and less effective over time, and the pain intensifies the longer you take meds. your body seems to lose it's natural ability to deal with the pain. stop taking it while you can, and just power through it for a couple weeks. i have tons of side effects from taking these.

 | Sharp: Its simply withdraws that is making you restless and hot/cold. Ask your doctor for Vicodin or Tylenol #3 or #4 to take when you're not taking the Roxy. And to quit slowly reduce the amount of pills your taking until you stop. I have taken my share of oxy/vicodin any and all opiates. And not by choice. Several surgeries and Crohn's disease and you have no choice since the OTC stuff does jack shit unless you take liver and kidney killing amounts. I never got the chills or restless the first few months I was on them... It took a good few scripts before I developed the symptons of addiction. You've really only been taking them for 2 weeks? And if you dont mind why are you taking them? Doctors only write powerful narcotics like OxyContin/Morphine, etc. to majorly sick, diseased or dying people. |

I was given the script for knee surgery. The doc is my friend and if I was anyone else I probably would have gotten perc 10's or vic 10's. Anyways, I didn't take any today...so I haven't had any since last Thursday. I think I'll just tough the pain out and maybe save the rest of the roxys for when the pain stops to take for fun

If you can quit I wish you the best! If you can make it a week without you'll start feeling better. But any time you get hurt, have surgery, or anything that requires painkillers you're taste for them will come right back. They have some pritty good non-narcotic painkillers on the market like Ultram/Tramadol so you could always ask for those in the future if required. Its always best to use the least amount of painkiller possible for pain. You never know when you'll need the really powerful stuff.

 | If you are in a state like California that has a medical cannabis law and have issues with chronic pain or other chronic illness that causes pain and/or considerable discomfort I would suggest getting a medical cannabis recommendation so that you can visit dispensaries that carry medical grade cannabis. There are some strains that are as good as a vicodin at relieving pain and no addictive side effects! Stay away from the pharm drugs they will fuck you up. It's your right to have medical cannabis if you are in a state that has that if your condition is covered under the law of that state and I don't know any state that doesn't include chronic pain on that list! |

Medical strains are better than Marinol, which has little effect for chronic pain. Canada has a new drug in addition to medical cannabis, a pharm drug that addresses the issue of cbd at least -- Sativex, it is an oral mouth spray. Approved for MS patients with spasm and chronic pain. Indica strains are generally higher in cbd and cbn content. There are around 60 different cannabinoids in cannabis that work together with the thc. Jace, sorry to hear about your allergy. You live in GA? I don't think that is a medical state. Consider that it might be chemicals or mold in the cannabis you've tried before rather than the cannabis itself, or perhaps pollen on the plants. Medical grade female flowers contain no pollen and are checked for chemicals and mold. Maybe try to grow your own and see if you have the same allergic reaction. Hope that helps!
