Looking for a service that converts MiniDV to DVD. Anyone know of one?

sorry if this is lame, but im sure a dig through the phone book would find something ... unless you live in BFE. in which case you could just look in the yahoo yellow pages for video businesses in a city near you... hell doesnt even have to be near you. fedex the shit. I have the equipment to do it myself, but im guessing perhaps you guys do as well, and just dont want to fuck with it... it is boring as hell.Comment

I have a couple of people that do the file transfer and media encoding here that work inside the major entertainment companies like Warner Bros. and MTV (Viacom). I will ask them if they want to do it using their equipment for some extra cash if you guys would like. I'm sure they will because they probably need the extra dough (I know my guy at Time-Warner does! LOL)

Depends on what you are looking for - glass master and 1,000 copies, or just a dvd-r copy. Do you want menu authoring, or just dump on a dvd?
We do some menu authoring and dvd-r mastering and duplication.

are you sending out dvds or just want the minidv shit on your pc so you can encode it for the web? youll get better quality making your clips from a straight capture rather than converting to dvd, then ripping, then encoding...Originally posted by [Labret]

of course you could get a capture card that converts if you dont want 1000 gigs of hard drives. i have this one, it captures into mpeg2 (dvd) quite nicely

you could probably save a considerable chunk by making the master dvd yourself then just sending it off to be duped. but its all up to how much their mastering costs vs. how much time you want to piss away on it.Comment

you are already capturing and converting the files, just make whatever you want to be on the dvd into an mpeg2 file (dvd) and burn it onto a dvd-r ... thats a simplification, maybe someone else can elaborate, but its really not that hard... TMPEGenc will encode to dvd format and so will cleaner, im sure other proggies will to.
so there your expeses are time, dvd-rs and a dvd burner... youre already obviously equipped to capture and edit it. youll have to compare that to what a company will want to master it, and maybe if theyre duping it for you, maybe theyll master it for less, i dont know... you can email me if you want, i dont keep icq on too much, but msn and aim i do
