Yeah, until you own one. I had a new Z06 that after 3000 miles it had consumed all the oil in the crank case.

Dealer said: "This is a known problem. These issues are common when a new performance engine is released. Everything needs time to evolve and overcome engineering issues. We will need to pull the engine... "

And they wonder why US car manufacturers lose market share every year.

It really depends on how you want to use the car.

The amount of Lamborghini dealerships in the USA is minimal compared to the Audi dealers. If I bought this car (or a Lamborghini) I would drive it almost daily... which means service is going to be needed.

Driving (or flatbed tow) 350+ miles to my local Lamborghini dealer in Miami would suck.

I had an Acura NSX and I can not tell you how great it was to be able to roll into an Acura dealership and have the car serviced. The car came with a warranty just like any other Acura. Which I am assuming the Audi will also. Does the Lamborghini come with any sort of warranty?

Why not it's sexy rides

I checked out an R8 the other week its nice but I'd rather have a lambo anyday. R8 seems a bit like an audi TT on steroids or something for the money I'd rather have a porsche.

Surprisingly enough,I've had my Lambo a bit over a year now.To date it has had NO issues at all.The car did come with a 2 year 24k mile warranty.
It's been reliable enough to use as a daily driver.

not every audi dealer is buying the r8 program and consequently, not every audi dealer will be authorized to sell the r8 or perform factory service.

not that that would be a big issue, imo, the car will be outstanding, i rode in a friend's rs4 which has the same engine and it runs like a beast

Mr. Romance 01-04-2007 09:32 AM

Lambo for this guy

Hey Minte, what has been the coolest moment of Lambo ownership thus far? :)

Little old ladies drive corvettes. Look around at Corvette drivers, there are two main types; guys who turned 50, have a decent job and can now afford a nice car AND the 50 year old wives of those guys.

It is no longer the car that it was.

Couldn't you say that about any of these super-expensive cars? I don't know any young people that own 80K+ cars. It's the older guys who can afford this stuff.

I'd take the Vette over either of those just for the practicality. All I hear about Lambos is how often they are in the garage and how it costs $1000 for an oil change. No thanks.

ajrocks 01-04-2007 09:56 AM

Corvette Z06 will own a Lambo? I can't see that.

jakethedog 01-04-2007 10:30 AM

I have been looking into the new Gallardo for about 6 months .. and here In Vancouver they range from 215K to 279K cdn .. ouch .. the demand is huge and supply is down .. so guys and deales are gouging pretty bad ...so for a 06 Gallardo your looking after taxes and crap 300K cdn .. :S

Living in Wisconsin makes Lamborghini very rare.I know of 2 others in the entire state. So to answer that question,it's watching peoples expressions when they see the car.Young kids all seem to know what it is.They get truly excited when they see it.

DaddyHalbucks 01-04-2007 10:38 AM

Offhand, the Lambo.

MarkTiarra 01-04-2007 10:39 AM

Why choose? Start another site and buy them both. :1orglaugh

It's easier to just cash in a few stocks.
And I am only looking forward to driving an R8,I have a lambo and a few other cars now and am seriously considering a CGT for my next addition.

King Adam 01-04-2007 11:37 AM

That Audi is tight. Daddy likes.
