leave the country and buy a big house in a foreign place

then u wont have to pay them and can live a sweet life but you will have 2 pay them in your new country from the time of arrival

What's the current status on his filing?

Anotherwords, has the IRS filed for him and says he owes money
on the years not filed or does he just know they'll catch up to him soon ?

If the IRS filed for him he needs to hire a company like www.ameritax.com !

If he just didn't file he can fill the forms out online and send them in
and after he gets all caught up he can work out a payment plan with the IRS.

If he owes less then $25,000 the IRS issues an automatic approval for a 5 year payment plan but if he owes more he has to pay it down to under 25 K.

The main thing is to get them filed before the IRS does it for him. If they do it they will hose him !

If he has been working for a company and has been having money withheld it may not be a big deal at all. I had a friend who actually was owed money. He was just too lazy to file.
