The church is going to be VERY happy when she kicks the bucket as I'm sure it's all going "to God". |

Martha Stewart showed how to darn socks. I usually throw them away except these are my "coat my feet with skin lotion" socks. |
My mom was the same way for the most part. She would tell me she "had to cut back on her spending" and give the kids $20 or nothing for their birthday, but show up for cake etc. wearing a $2,000 dress, $800 shoes and about 750K worth the jewelery. At Christmas, she would open up the many gifts I gave her, but she would not even give me a card....and I would go to the hairdressers (we had the same one) and she would show me gold bracelet or earrings my mother had given her for Christmas

Dee, there are times when I think we had the same mother ;) She DRIPS in diamonds and always spends money on clothes and shoes. And let's not forget, in FL, as soon as it hits 60 degrees, out come the furs :)
She hasn't given me a Christmas gift in 15+ years. She used to give my son a box of fudge that we gave to my Dad - who LOVES her fudge but she would never make it again if she knew it was going to him. All that time she thought *I* was eating it since my son didn't like it, so she at least gives me a box of fudge every Christmas (which goes to Dad ;) ). I always make sure to give her something at least semi-expensive to make her feel bad. Obviously a waste of money but I feel like a better person for about 1/2 a day. This year she gave me an airbrushed picture of herself - I had asked for one for a "family" wall. She must have spent a fortune and it doesn't look at ALL like her, lol. |

And another thing (you can tell I was burning inside that day) my cousin who's complaining about not having the money to eat and ski drives a new MB and gets her hair done at $300 a pop every 6 weeks (she has a TV show, so has to do the hair thing, but still.....). Her house is paid for and she usually eats at her mother's for free.
