    Where would the internet be today if it wasnn't for online porn?

    I've been discussing this issue with several people lately. They all work in mainstream, and most of them don't agree with me that porn helped developed the Internet into what it is today. For those who have been in this for a while now, tell me how important porn has been to the World Wide Web.

                  Mos tof the advances with the internet are because of porn. Porn took the chances on new technologies. When mainstream saw they worked THEN they decided to use them.

                  Also porn is a lot of the reason people even bothered with the internet and then went on to discover all the non-porns tuff. So if not for porn many people wouldn't even have anything to do with the internet.

                  So if porn had somehow been banned for the internet from the start, it would probally be like it was back in 1998 or thereabouts.

                                                                  I'm sure the net would be getting along just fine had there been no porn on it..

                                                                  Maybe there wouldn't be some of the technologies, but what doesn't exist isn't missed.. Then again, who knows what may have been different tech-wise had there been no porn.. The technologies could have come along regardless in that there are mainstream companies that make use of pretty much the same type stuff, so someone coulda come up with what was needed...
