interesting movie. Not fully accurate. Here are the real reasons the cars died:
1) In large scale production consumers wanted to pay less for a car that could do less. The manufactures couldn't figure out how to do that. 2) GM wouldn't sell the prototype EV1's because of liability reasons. Think about it, if you are a major car manufacturer do you want a bunch of protypes out on the road. |

An electric car is pure nonsense.
To produce 1 kwh of electriciy you need 3 kwh of oil, coal or gas. The pollution is tripled! Above that you have transfer loss of the electric power from the power stations. Loss when charging/discharging the car's battery. |

I think the end idea is that we can use solar, wind and water power to help get the electricity needed to power the cars.

I heard a scientist is proposing the crazy idea that petroleum is not actually a fossil fuel, but something the earth itself is producing.
He had some convincing evidence, but I don't remember the details, other than that organic molecules are only found in the petroleum deposits nearest the surface. |

hydrogen fuel cell .. Ballard batteries has then and they are being fully endorsed by GM ..mercedes and a few other Automakers .. put water in .. make power .. by product water ... sounds pretty simple and efficient to me .. http://environmentalchemistry.com/yo...fuelcells.html
