After 14 years together my dog died in my arms yesterday... needless to say it not's fun burying a member of your family on Christmas day, I'm a total mess and this is one christmas I just want to forget but we had to try and make the best of it just for the kids, we had to tell the kids last night because they asked to go see her... I think she took a stroke or something on Chrismas Eve and lost total control of her right side!

Merry Christmas and best wishes for the coming year. I've lost my fair share of pets, as a child my uncle used to say there was a "6 month curse" no pet lasted more than 6 months in our house. He even told my dog Sumo that, after we had him almost a year, and the damn dog ran away the next day, never to be seen again. Evenually, we tried again, and had the next dog for many years til I went off to college and gave it to my aunt. She took care of her, til the dog passed last summer, at 15 yrs old. So I can sympathize with your loss. Having a pet that long, makes it more like a family member.
