Another Vanilla/Dreamhost Question - GoFuckYourself.com

Anyone running this combination, please give me a hand, either here or ICQ.

We are demoing how running Vanilla on Dreamhost will work and...

I'm getting the typical problem in installation with it being unable to run PHP from command line. Yeah, that annoying little red error text that tells you your server paths aren't being friendly. Support says its because they have exec() disabled. How did you all who use this software/server combination work around this?

If you'd searched GFY before going with Dreamhost you'd have stayed away from them.

Hi, and thanks.

We did search, and we found a lot positive and almost as many negatives, but the math of that still results in a positive. So far, we're enjoying the hell out of their UI and the abilities they have, except this one issue.

So I hope someone that uses this combination (because there are many I see from doing exactly what you suggested and searching the board) can contact me and let me know.

If all else fails, I'll put in my own PHP installation there, but I don't want it to have to come to that if at all possible.

Thanks for the observation though, and I'm more than happy to still accept other recommendations, tranza, like I said... I'm demoing, not stuck with my heart set.
