the way i see it... if you are phenominal you can convert whatever comes @ you... and if someone is paying u 3k they have to be making at least $3000.01 to make it worth anything.... chances are its a Lot more... why wouldnt you just do it for yourself?

Maybe he lacks in design sensibilities or doesnt know programming, perhaps he doesnt want to deal w/the hassle of living and dying by the Serps.
I can think of a lot of reasons why someone would exploit a particular skill of theirs and allow it to be part of a total solution for someone else.

you start a thread to brag. you then claim to be a genius at generating search engine traffic (going so far to make the claim of being one of the few that actually know)... then you plead ignorance in not knowing how to monetize that traffic, to rationalize selling SEO services... the latter of course, an odd position, which would cast well placed doubt on your original claim.

I think your price is fair honestly... If you are getting your clients results and they are happy then that is all that matters... If you find they are to happy, raise em up a bit, if you find they are not happy, lower them a bit
As far as some of these people saying to do it for yourself... I understand why you don't, it is more motivational to work for a client that is cutting a check versus working on your own projects, they seem to not get done...
Might not be your case though... But if it is I understand...
Like with my services... I am way behind on my own, but never on clients
