with al the recent fuss over teen sites, what can affilaites do to cover their asses?

It seems like the main topic of discussion comes at us in waves on gfy, recently it has swayed to the issues regarding teen model content being mistaken for cp, or program operators coming under attack for their 2257 documents and so on. my question is just how hard can this trickle down to someone running a tgp or blog? i ean, when it comes down to it, most affiliates are simply using promotional content believing that it is completely legal. Should I be running some sort of statement on my teenblog, or all my blogs for that matter regarding legal ages of the girls contained in the content I promote? What can an affiliate do to protect himself with all the controversy arising? is this even that big an issue for people on the affiliate end of the business?

Don't create promotional content that is questionable. Shit, IMHO if affiliates stopped giving out nude content & free porn, we'd make more money, but that ain't gonna happen, at least not voluntarily.

If you live in the US here are your options.

1. Use nonsexually explicit images or text only.

2. Have the docs for every sexually explicit image on you sites and have a 2257 statement listing you as the custodian of records along with your address. (make sure you are there at least 20 hours a week)

3. Hope the government finally realizes that by making everyone that runs a website, even if they have never contracted or participated in the hiring of a model, a producer it does nothing to stop cp or protect children.

You will probably have the most luck with the first two options.
Unfortunately the US government doesn't like porn and won't try to work with this industry to come up with a fair solution to "protect the children". Instead they make bullshit rules that just make it harder to run a business that is perfectly legit.

i never go out of my way to promote a girl as being under the age of 18 in any way on my teen/solo blog. i promote them as young yes, but thats what they are. there's no shady thumb cropping etc etc. but what i'm wondering is, should i have some sort of copy stating the girls are all of age, should i put in place a backpage linking all my sponsors 2257 pages? anything along that lines? or on the affiliate end do i not have much to worry about?

sfter reading this http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=687389 i spotted that not only the people runnig programs could come under attack, but anyone promoting the content as well.

as far as the law is concerned i want to take every step to promote legal content, in the most legal of fashions.

Everything that is published on a website needs to have judgement in the same way any editor manages media. Because a sponsor offers imaging, does not mean it's a free for all.

what the hell is that supposed to mean?

what i'm look for is things like labelling your sites with ICRA ratings and so on. what sort of copy is there you can add to yoursite to avoid any problems down the line, to help keep minors out of the site, and so on.

Just because you can't make the connection, doesn't make them pointless.
