The story gets funnier... I talked to the woman at the house in question... The dog belongs to her ex husband, who is now a bum and a drunk and comes by a couple times a week to bother her. There's no real way to track him down to ask about the dogs shots and stuff and she doesn't think it's ever been to a vet. Strange story :helpme

a1ka1ine 12-18-2006 07:51 AM

was the dogs eyes red? if so it could have been pure evil, and you should find some holy water to pour on that wound.

i would hope that if you turned up at the hospital a+e and pointed to your wound and then growled at them they would understand!

Big_D 12-18-2006 09:05 AM

i got bit today too

Why does everyone say this. Dude it did not just start barking and I took off like a schoolgirl... It jumped up and bit me for no reason instantly... I started running so it wouldn't bite me again. "Stand there" :1orglaugh Let's see you do that.

LadyMischief 12-18-2006 10:05 AM

Next time take the Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) Approach.

Avert your gaze and don't show the dog your teeth. OWN YOUR SPACE. Don't run, or make sudden movements, don't be afraid just be completely confident and that your space is YOURS, stay calm and assertive... at most he might nip a bit or sniff at you but if you hold your ground and don't make any eye contact or flee, you won't get bit 99.9% of the time.

It's probably territorial or sensed insecurity or distraction in you. Dogs generally don't just bite "unprovoked", there is always provocation oen way or another. Sometimes even just a negative thought process can bring it on.

I don't know if you've ever been to a place like this, but I wasn't exaggerating when I said there were more stray dogs than people... I can see 4 of them out my window on my block right now just hanging around. I walked by with a DVD from the video store and didn't even notice it there, just like the other 900 dogs I walk by every day. There's something wrong with it and it should be killed, plain and simple.

My point is, I've been around dogs all my life and am extremely comfortable with them... But if a dog is attacking someone because of a "negative thought process", that is pretty fucking unprovoked.

If I see it on my street again I will shoot it.

Rankings 12-18-2006 10:39 AM

dood, thats fucked up

Maybe it's sick or something. Dogs generally don't do things without a purpose, it's just not how they're hardwired. I doubt they have regular vaccination schedules down there. You seriously should go to the hospital!

BitAudioVideo 12-18-2006 10:44 AM

They gave me some heavy duty antibiotics to prevent infection in the bite, which apparantly can cause liver failure if I drink with them :( :(

The doctor tells me weed is ok though (although he did make a face), so yes the beach trip is still on :thumbsup

You're right, I don't even think I need the damn antibiotics... I think the wound will be healed before I'm done taking them.

The real cause for concern is the saliva-transmitted rabies which can be fatal if not vaccinated right away.

BlackCrayon 12-18-2006 02:08 PM

Learning more every day :winkwink:

I can do everything I need to do on a day to day basis, just sometimes there's stuff that's out of my range still, like hospital terms, banking terms, etc.
