I lived there for 6 months a couple fo years back.
As with most uber corrupt countries, ANYTHING can be illegal if found out (they have contrived decency laws which they can apply to hold you on).
No white man wants to spend time in a cell with 50 locals while some corrupt lawyer works something corrupt out, so again, the LEGALITY is not thre real issue.
Don't have a high profile, and keep a wad of Pesos to buy "presents" for people if they come a-knocking, and if anyone does come knocking, move afterwards.
