Attacker with foot fetish strikes in South Phila.

The foot fiend has gone south.

The man who sometimes demanded to suck and lick the feet of women he sexually assaulted last month in Center City struck again yesterday morning - this time in the Point Breeze neighborhood, police said.

The victim, the sixth, had gotten off a bus at 19th and Federal Streets on her way home from work just before 6 a.m. when the man put a gun in her face and dragged her to a nearby recreation center, said Capt. John Darby, head of the Special Victims Unit.

He then robbed and assaulted her, Darby said, at times pressing a pistol into her face and body.

The 33-year-old woman reported that her attacker fit the description of a police sketch based on accounts by previous victim.

And he displayed the signature fetish.

"There was some focus on the feet here," Darby said.

Darby otherwise declined to describe the nature of the sexual assaults. One victim has said it amounted to groping.

"This is an extremely angry individual," Darby said. "The level of violence, I can tell you, is increasing."

Darby described the suspect as a black man in his 40s or 50s, between 5-foot-4 and 5-8, and thin. The latest victim described him as wearing an ankle-length green overcoat and possibly missing some front teeth.

He is believed to have wide-spaced, deep-set eyes and slight salt-and-pepper facial hair.

The man may have moved south to avoid stepped-up police patrols designed to catch him, said Darby, who urged women to be vigilant and avoid walking alone in the dark if possible.

The assaults in November occurred in or close to Center City, including one on Pine Street near 18th, and one in the 2400 block of Spruce Street.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading the arrest of the attacker.

If you have a tip, call the Citizens Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley at 215-546-8477. Callers don't have to give their names to collect the reward after a conviction.
