Nope -- the cable that came with the SCSI Card had a terminator on the end and I had it so the DVD-ROM terminates in the three device 50-pin chain.

The only bad thing is that the DVD drive is rather loud when accessing files.

Wow that's a fast drive!!!

You have a fan specifically for that drive right? Most common reason why the 10K rpm scsi drives fail is because they generate heat like a mofo.

Just making sure. Nice system!

Or you can always use this

Kooltron Traveller II

Keep up to nine 12 oz. cans nice and cold. Easy to move around with you for cool refreshment "on the go". Tuck it under your work desk (using optional AC adapter) for private lunch/snack/refreshment storage. Ideal for those really small spaces. 9 quarts, 12?L x 9?W x 12? H, 8 lbs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We can only ship this product to developing countries or to someone on the way to a developing country. When sending an order, please be sure to include the non-usa, Canada, or Europe address.

Yeah, it's a refridgerator but as hot as your system should get you might need to refashion this thing and put it in!

when i build this system i got an adaptec 39160 (dual channel server class scsi 3 card) for *home* use. figured i'd splurge and go scsi for kicks. i love it. it's fast and i can burn cd's using my scsi burner off of it even if i crashed my computer basically.. IDE is way too CPU intensive for my comforts anymore.
