I don't get it...he invites the guy to his show, knows all about it, knows what's on the video and then tells the guy he doesn't want to talk to him. Then he says "I refuse to publicize that.".

I agree with Dr Phil exploiting people..as long as they feel it's moral,it's ok to take advantage of anybody for ratings..hypocrites

Dr. Phil didn't get owned. He did not refuse to talk to the guy because he was "mocking" his appearence. He did not want to give him any air time after seeing the video at the beginning of the segment. The producers do all of that pre interviewing and shit. He knew what bum fights was about but I don't believe that he saw the video until it was shown to the audience.

That bum fight guy should have his teeth ganked out by a set of plyers!

Dr.Phil realized he wasn't going to bully this guy around like his regular guest, and if he tried he was taking a risk of looking like a jackass

I once saw a show where he tore into this girl for trying to convince her twin sister to join her doing porn. Saying in part that they were too young to make such decisions. They were 21 or so.

Then on a show a couple of days later he praised a girl who was 18 for sticking up for what she wanted to do against her parents wishes, because it was a better career move and something he approved of.

Basically hypocritical based on his own sense of morality, which doesnt include adults enjoying other adults in sexual contact.

Not surprising because he once held an entire episode in a church, lol.

I've seen a few clips of the bumfights shit, it's just awful. Not saying it's particularly 'wrong'; sure it's exploitation but it's essentially the same exact thing what those talk show hosts are doing. Sure, the talk shows may not be as violent (well except for Springer) but they still exploit human beings to make a buck.

What made this particular issue really fucked up was Dr. Phil invited him on his show, AFTER seeing clips of the bumfight series... to just kick him off. Made Phil look like a total ass and made for a great viral campaign the guy can now use to sell more vids. Sweet deal.

If that were really the case why would he show us all the promo...?

That producer was right on the money - there's no difference between the exploitation that dr. phil is doing to his guests and what the bum fights producer is doing....it's just a matter of degree.

Dr. Phil's producers at least know more subtle ways to monetize on someone else's anguish.

I dont care about Dr Phil or that dork that was on the show. I like most anything extreme, but the bum fights are very, very lame. I think they are just in poor taste, but freedom of expression and freedom of speech should be upheld. We must tolerate shit that we may not agree with, that is the price of freedom.
